Grafton, WI, (For Immediate Release) - R.T. Gilman's new linear guide slides provide smooth operation and extremely high accuracy because of their low friction ball or roller bearing and their preloaded recirculating guideways.
R.T. Gilman's linear guide slides are ideal for a wide variety of applications such as CNC and laser-machining centers, drilling machines, grinding machines, material handling equipment, industrial robots, medical and optical equipment and other precision instruments and devices. They are offered in widths from 9 to 24 inches and in lengths to 96 inches. R.T. Gilman linear slide tolerances are: Overall height +/- .005 in., Vertical tracking +/- .0003 in./ft., Horizontal tracking +/- .0003 in./ft., Saddle to base parallelism +/- .0005 in./ft. and Base end perpendicularity .001 in.
The slides' uniform and low coefficient of friction allows the use of smaller rolled or ground ball screw drives, and there is the option to order these slides with or without rolled or ground ball screw drives. Metric ground ball screw drives are also available.
Select drive or linear motors. Also, custom linear motors can be fitted to these slides.
R.T. Gilman’s new linear guide slide catalog no. 201 includes a section on how to select either roller or ball bearings based on the duty cycle of the application.
In addition, seals, wipers and metal or fabric covers and coatings are offered to help protect the slides in hazardous environments. These coatings are resistant to wear, chemicals and corrosion. Some coatings offer high temperature stability, nonstick surfaces and dry film lubrication.
